BALLET MAESTRO
Born in Cuba, Osmany Montano trained at the Escuela Nacional de Ballet in La Habana under Alicia Alonso, Ramona De Saá, and Magda Campo, earning a Silver Medallion at the Cuban Ballet Festival. He danced with the Cuban National Ballet, Ballet of Santiago de Cuba, Ballet of Camagüey, and the National Ballet of Caracas, performing internationally across Europe, Latin America, and the United States with companies including Tulsa Ballet and Sarasota Ballet.
His classical repertoire spans Coppélia, Don Quixote, Swan Lake, The Nutcracker, Sleeping Beauty, Romeo and Juliet, and many others, along with principal roles in works by Nacho Duato, Stanton Welch, Vicente Nebrada, and Alberto Méndez.
Since 2007, Montano has been on faculty at America’s Ballet School, now Tampa City Ballet School, where he has staged full‑length classical ballets. He is recognized as an “Outstanding Teacher” by both the Youth America Grand Prix and the American Dance Competition and has served as an adjunct Dance Professor at the University of South Florida since 2011.
