Kennedy Brown

Named one of Dance Magazine’s “25 to Watch” in 2021, Kennedy Brown received her formal training at Master Ballet Academy in Arizona, A & A Ballet in Chicago, and from Magaly Suarez at The Art of Classical Ballet in Florida. Throughout her career, Brown has been awarded several opportunities to share her passion and talent across the globe. In 2014, she was invited to compete and represent the United States in the USA International Ballet Competition in Jackson, Mississippi. She was named a gold and silver medalist at the Youth America Grand Prix and was a guest performer at the 60th Anniversary of the Beijing Academy in China and the Lodz Dance Festival in Poland.

In addition to receiving national titles and recognition, Brown competed as a top 30 contestant on So You Think You Can Dance, where she was able to perform in an Emmy Award-winning piece choreographed by Mandy Moore. In 2021, she was acknowledged by the Tennessee House of Representatives and received a House Resolution in honor of her contribution to the arts.

Brown joined NB2, Nashville Ballet’s official second company, in 2017 and was promoted to Company apprentice the following season. During her time here, Brown has continued to excel, dancing roles such as Stella in Annabelle Lopez Ochoa’s A Streetcar Named Desire, Mrs. Dunbar in Val Caniparoli’s The Lottery, Dew Drop in Paul Vasterling’s Nashville’s Nutcracker, Big Swan in Swan Lake, and in George Balanchine’s Western Symphony.

When she’s not dancing, Brown enjoys teaching, choreographing, cooking, and spending time with her church family and friends.
