Anna Oglesby brings more than fourteen years of Pilates experience to Ovations, along with a lifelong foundation in dance and movement. Originally from Denver, she began dancing and participating in gymnastics at the age of two and went on to train and compete in ballet, jazz, tap, contemporary, hip hop, lyrical, and acro. She earned her first choreography award in 2003, confirming her passion for the performing arts.
Anna received her Associate of Arts in Dance from Casper College, where she studied ballet, modern, jazz, tap, musical theatre, acting, vocal performance, costuming, makeup, backstage production, and theatre technology. She later earned her Bachelor of Fine Arts in Dance Performance and Choreography from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, and performed internationally at festivals in Germany and Australia.
During her college training, Anna discovered Pilates and connected immediately with its focus on strength, alignment, control, breath, and purposeful movement. She completed a 500‑hour Classical Pilates Certification after graduating and has taught Pilates for more than fourteen years. She has also spent more than a decade teaching at Pure Barre Westchase, earning certifications in Classic, Reform, Define, Empower, and Align.
As both a dancer and educator, Anna believes Pilates is an essential complement to dance training. Her teaching supports technique, body awareness, stability, mobility, and confidence while helping dancers understand and connect with their own movement.
Anna is excited to share her love of Pilates with Ovations dancers and create a space where they can strengthen, reset, challenge themselves, and build greater balance in their training.
