Tiny Tots Ballet & Tap Adventure at Ovations Dance Academy of Tampa is a joyful introduction to dance for our youngest movers. Each class is thoughtfully structured to support early childhood development while keeping little dancers engaged and excited.
The class begins with a gentle warm-up that introduces stretching and movement to music, helping children get comfortable and ready to dance. Interactive activities encourage gross motor development and body awareness in a playful way.
Dancers then practice listening and following directions through simple movement games, such as dance-based “Simon Says,” clapping patterns, and rhythm exercises. These moments help build focus, timing, and classroom confidence.
During the ballet portion of class, children are introduced to basic ballet positions and movements, including first position, plié, and tendu. Concepts are taught through imaginative themes—such as pretending to be animals or flowers—so learning feels natural and fun.
The tap portion introduces basic tap steps like shuffles, taps, and stamps. Children love hearing the sounds their feet make, which helps develop musicality, coordination, and rhythm awareness.
Creative movement time allows dancers to explore movement freely, encouraging creativity, confidence, and self-expression. Class ends with a calming cool-down and reflection time, helping dancers transition smoothly and share what they enjoyed.
