Description:

Tap dance develops skills that support every performer, timing, listening, control, and stage presence. In our Tap program, dancers learn how to create clear sounds with their feet while understanding musical counts, rhythm patterns, and performance quality.

Classes are structured and technique-driven, but always encouraging. Dancers progress from foundational steps to more complex rhythms, faster transitions, and performance-ready combinations. Tap is especially beneficial for students who enjoy music, want to feel more confident in performance settings, or thrive with skill-based challenges.

In Tap, dancers will focus on:

  • Rhythm, timing, and musicality

  • Coordination, speed, and control

  • Technique basics (sounds, placement, weight shifts)

  • Clarity, consistency, and performance quality

  • Building confidence through progressive skill development

Whether your dancer is brand new or looking to refine their technique, Tap at Ovations offers a strong path for growth, right here in Tampa.
