Description:
Acro (short for acrobatics) is a skill-based class that focuses on balance, control, coordination, and safe body mechanics. Dancers work through progressions that may include bridges, forward rolls, handstands, cartwheels, walkovers, and more, while improving core strength and flexibility. Our goal is to help each student grow with solid technique, proper spotting, and confidence.
In Acro, dancers will work on:
Flexibility, mobility, and safe stretching habits
Core strength, alignment, and stability
Balance and control for skills like handstands and bridges
Tumbling foundations (rolls, cartwheels, basic transitions)
Progressive skill development with readiness-based advancement
Dance integration: using acro skills cleanly within movement
What Parents can expect
Acro classes at Ovations are structured, upbeat, and safety-first. Each class includes a warm-up, targeted conditioning, flexibility work, and skill progressions taught with proper technique and spotting. Students move through drills and stations designed to build strength and coordination, then practice skills with clear coaching and positive reinforcement. Progress is individualized, your dancer won’t be pushed into advanced skills before they have the foundation to do them well and safely.
